Costa Rican coffee is known for being top quality and depending on the microclimate of the place, height and growing conditions, it presents considerable differences in terms of flavor. The Costa Rican Coffee Institute (ICAFE) has divided coffee cultivation into 8 zones.
On this route it is important to say that the areas of Guanacaste, Puntarenas and San Carlos have been known for livestock and for the good quality of their meat.
The route of indigenous products consists of visiting and learning about the history, culture and gastronomy of the 8 Costa Rican ethnic groups: pejibaye, corn, beans, chayote, tacaco and others.
This route is mainly based in Atenas, Orotina and Quepos.
