In San Carlos, the buffalo is currently a great potential. Goats are being used more in cheeses, cosmetics and health. There is very little lamb and turkey. Regarding fishing with both seas, artisanal fishing is being promoted and, together with the Slow Fish Caribe network, programs are being carried out to avoid lionfish and to further promote the consumption of fish and shellfish in the population. Other products are the pork rinds from Puriscal and Aserrí, which already have specialized product fairs.
