Descripción

It includes the subregions: Orosí, Cachi and Paraíso. It is located in a Central Plateau Valley 40 km from San José. The fertile lands and the special agroclimatic conditions make this region produce a smooth coffee that offers a balance between good acidity, body and aroma. The coffee is planted on the characteristic slopes, with bitter floral notes, good for the espresso.

What to do

This route consists of visiting producers from different areas, many of whom have been to Terra Madre de Slow Food, visitors are shown the cultivation in the field, the process of beneficiation and the landscape in general. According to their time they are given: breakfast, lunch and they say goodbye with a coffee accompanied by pastries and roosters (picadillos, ground beans or cheeses, inside tortillas, typical of the Tica gastronomy) made with products from the area.
