It is located a few kilometers east of San José. Located in the land of influence of the Irazú Volcano on the Pacific side. It is the most balanced cup for presenting the best conditions. It was a coffee area but little by little it has been reduced due to urbanization and there is less and less cultivated land planted. It is sweet, with a good proportion of body, acidity and intensity. It is a tall coffee, known for being a high hard bean like Stricktly Hard Bean (SHB)
What to do
This route consists of visiting producers from different areas, many of them who have been to Slow Food's Terra Madre, visitors are shown the cultivation in the field, the process of beneficiation and the landscape in general. According to their time they are given: breakfast, lunch and they say goodbye with a coffee accompanied by pastries and roosters (picadillos, ground beans or cheeses, inside tortillas, typical of the Tica gastronomy) made with products from the area.
